Dogfish Head 75 minute IPA

A bottle-conditioned India Pale Ale with maple syrup

Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA

Mike knows I like IPA’s so he insisted I try this one…

And I have to say it was and cool and unique as its label!

There are 4 Dogfish Head IPA’s with various “minutes of continuous hopping” attached to their name, http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/the-brews/index.htm. Two, the 60 Minute IPA and the 90 Minute IPA are produced year round and the 75 Minute IPA and 120 Minute IPA are seasonal.

The  75 Minute IPA  is a blend of the 60 minute and the 90 minute with the addition of maple syrup to aid in the aging.

Its smooth and deep with a little bit of darker ale taste, and all the richness and bright hops I needed on the rainy evening I tried it. Some stronger hopped IPAs taste like grapefruit juice with a shot of vodka, but this was subtler and more complex. Wonderful!

I’ll have to try the 120 minute IPA some time, maybe thats more a summer time brew?
